Audio Upgrade advice

Hello I was hoping to get some advice about which way to go on upgrading the sound system on my Road Glide Special. Keep in mind I am a total novice but after some research, here is what I am thinking: I want to do 4 6x9's in the saddle bags, maybe pioneers TSD 6902R or 6900 pro pushed by an alpine PDX F6. For the front I wanted to do Hertz MPX 6.5 Coax or componants. after speaking to a local shop i was told I needed a separate AMP for the front Fairing 6.5 Hertz. Is that true that I need 2 Amps? my budget was that I could not do entire Hertz upgrade so thought to Mix it with the pioneers. Is this a good ideal? Can someone with experience chime in and let me know if I need 2 amps and If what I propose is a good set up? I thank you in advance.

It really depends what your goals are. If you want to turn heads in a parking lot 4 speakers in your bags might be a good idea. If you want sound quality going down the road, maybe not so much. Without your goals and budget it's hard to throw out too many ideas. The 6900 pros and the DDVO 6x9s are probably the 2 most commonly used lid speakers. Four of them will require extra $$ for install etc. I have no experience with the alpine amp you mentioned but will say that to get the power you'll need for any 6 speaker setup you're looking at 2 amps to do it right (right amount of power, matching amp to speakers, etc).

Without additional info on what you're willing to spend/end goals are, the best advice I can give is to focus on your front fairing setup first. That's where the majority of the sound going down the road comes from and you want the best setup possible in front of you. Once you're satisfied with your front fairing setup, add something to the rears that will complement the front.

2018 CVO RG lava orange, 117 Stage 3, 14" F47 and a few chrome extras. Boom crap gone.
2016 RG Special Cosmic Blue, 120ST with Dragos 2:1 and TTS tuner, FBI drop seat kit and JNR air ride. Stock audio long gone.

The Pioneer 6900 Pro's speakers you mentioned have good bass but the tweets can be harsh, especially with 4 of them. DD VO 6x9's would be a much warmer sounding speaker, but may need a horn to get some good highs. If you are going for more bass you would be better off with an 8" or 10" in the bags, You could even run 2 8's in the bags with the proper mount. The Alpine amp you mentioned is a bit pricey for the size and power. There are several amps that will get you as much or more power and will have a clean sound for less money. There are some 6 channel amps that will run your setup. If you are gonig for loud and clear audio I would look into a pro audio setup, like PRV, MMats, Beyma or DD Audio. You'll prob spend a lot less for a lot more sound.

2007 SB Stage 1, PCV, 30/70 swap, fabbed fenders, w/ quick release bags fairing and tour pack, lots of powder, flake and marbled paint.
2008 Road Glide - Stage 1, added lowers and Tour Pak, and upgraded audio.
