Replacing BOOM amp have FLASH Questions

I currently have a 15RGS That came with the BOOM 1 audio upgrade. I have fairing speakers as well as speakers in my lids. I am assuming the HU is flashed for 4 speakers and 1 amp.
I have already upgraded my BOOM 1 speakers with JBL GTO 2ohm speakers but I still want better clarity and volume at high speeds. I will probably use the Cerwin Vega B54 amp. I also
plan on using the BT355 line levelers. Do I have the dealer reflash my radio for 4 speakers no amplifier. Do I leave it as is and just remove the amp, plug in the BT355's and connect to the CW B54
amp. There are 2 different options on the BT355's not sure which option to go with.

The JBL's are good but you may want to consider the Infinity Kappas. The JBL's a re a great budget speaker but they lack depth. The Kappas bring some of that depth back without breaking the bank.

If you call Biketronics they can get you the right line levelers and mention the forum and I believe you still get a discount. I believe the 2 different BT355's are for the front and the rear, IIRC they have two different plugs so as to differentiate between the two.

You should not need to get the HU reflashed.

Even if you stick with the JBL's it will sound better than the Boom!. I ran the JBL's for a few years and they arent bad, so dont get me wrongI just think that on a budget the Kappas are better. The Vega is a great bang for the buck amp IMO, nice choice.

15 RGS Vivid Black. Lots of Black stuff cause we all know Black is the fastest color. Custom Dynamics turn signals and PlasmaRods.
A.C.E. powerflex headpipes, and a better than stock stereo.

I have been wanting the Infinity Kappas for a while. I am considering running components in the front and may go with the Kappa 60.11 and the 682.11cf in the rears. Does it make sense to stay with 2ohm speakers or should I go with 4ohm since the amp can run either.

Typically you will get more power from the two ohm vs the four ohm provided that the amp is 2ohm stable.

One way to make up the difference if you are in love with a 4ohm speaker is to (obviously) get a more powerfull amp. The down side is you will pay for it. If you dont mind the added premium and the speakers that sound best to you are 4ohms then by all means have at it.

The reason the Kappa/Vega speaker and amp combo works so well is the cost to power ratio. You can get better amps and better sounding speakers but you are going to pay for the power and clarity. I begrudge no one for bigger and better, but for me, the sound I have is more than good for me at 80mph plus.

I guess it comes down to how much do you want to spend and how loud/clear do you want it to be.

I hope I havent muddied the water too much and good luck with your decision,

I am perfectly fine staying lower in ohm's as well as lower in price LOL. You haven't muddied the waters, you've confirmed my ideas.

Glad to have helped. Not everyone wants/can spend huge money on insert category here(sound, engine mods, lighting, etc) so its nice to know that at least in the sound department there are affordable solutions that dont sound like crap.

BTW If you keep an eye on Amazon, you can grab the Kappas at a pretty good price once in a while. I stalked them and finally pulled the trigger at less than 80 bucks.

beatlesfab4fan, do you know if the Infinity Kappa 682.11cf will fit in the Harley rear speaker lids? They say the 682.11cf are 6x9-5x7
