Speaker and grill combo for Advan Black lowers on 15 FLTRXS

I had done tons of searching on this forum and google to find a good fit speaker grill for the Advan Black color matched lowers. Thanks to Youtube I ordered some Kicker CS65 speakers and grills (cheap)(see first pic) to try. The fit of the grill was gonna take a little work and the speakers, I thought, would be good enough for now.
After more thought and research, I ordered two HD speaker grills, part number 76000065, and Biketronics BT477 6.5 speakers to plug into my already installed BT amp. I was hoping the grills I ordered would work out, but wasnt completely sure. I have not installed the lower speaker pods on my lowers yet, but did a test fit of the speakers while I waited for the grills to arrive. The grills arrived today from Boardtracker HD and Im glad to say they seem to be a perfect fit! (See last pic) I hope this helps someone who is searching like I was, to find a for sure answer to what seems to be a never ending grill search for the Advan Black lowers. Thanks, John

Advan or the grills must have changed. I got the same setup a year ago and had to dremell 70% of the grill away to make them fit. The Hertz speakers fit perfectly but the grills were too wide. I made them fit.

After looking at your pictures, my Harley grill has a different shape to the mesh. Did I perhaps get the wrong ones, although I think they only sell one.

Morningwood I had seen your experience and was pretty much resolved to make them fit as you did. I was very pleasantly surprised they fit as perfectly as they did. I have to wonder if AB did something different given the lack of success Id seen with fitting grills to their lower pods.

I have the Advan Black Speaker Pods and the OEM Harley Speaker Grilles on my 2012 Custom and they fit great.
Im running Polk Speakers in the Pods and no fitment issues at all.

I'm about to go through this same process of adding Advan Black lowers ('14+) and their speaker pods to my RGS. I have a set of Arc Moto 602v2 that I am going to run in the fairing, and some Polk MM652 that I will put in the lowers. I am hoping that the Arc Moto grills fit over the Polks in the lowers, but we'll see. I may have to order those Harley CVO grills in the end.

I thought I remember reading the Hogtunes grills work for the lowers as well, but I'm not 100% sure.

I have a 2012 RG and did the Advan Black lowers last summer. I did the Hertz speakers and used the factory grills. I was able to purchase a few plastic spacers from Lowes to put between the Speaker and the Grill. They are less than an half inch and make it so the grill sits flush to the outside of the lower. Came out pretty good.
