How Much Amp Cable Needed?

Searched the forum for an answer but couldn't find one, sorry if this been asked before. Trying to find out about how much power cable will I need to install the amp on my 2015 RGS. I know the amp kits come with extra long cables, but I'm buying it by the feet. Running the 12V, fused 8 gauge cable from the faring, under the tank, to the battery. I guesstimated 4.5 feet long, does that sounds about right? As recommended by Rockford, I'm running the same path for my ground cable too. Thanks in advance.

Run a string and measure the string.

Aye, exactly what I did. Just wanted someone that has tackle this before to corroborate with me.

A string will do it. Add a bit to the measurement, it can be cut.

When I did my install I just pulled the tank and ran wires down the channel, easier than Fn around trying to hide wiring IMO

Yes, this makes sense. I must likely buy 5 feet each to be on the safe side. Haven't pull out anything yet, just wanted to be 100% certain before starting to unbolt things. Thanks.

Can't agree with you more Colin. I wouldn't do it any other way.
