Rockford 6x9 kit

Any use the Rockford kit to cut openings for 6x9ís? And have a problem with fit. I have the 98-13 kit. Cut one lid and canít get outer grill and inner to line up.
Thanks

Means you need to find the areas that need trimming... not too hard to figure out.

I installed the 14-up kit. Mounted templates as indicated and no issues. Find your mismatch and file to fit.

Well after basically killing my lid I figured it out. It wasnít trimming but the thickness of the lid. I donít think Rockford ever installed on a bike this old. Now I need a new lid.

Slightly longer screws would have done the trick most likely... are you sure your lid is trashed? As long as you have no gaps, it may still work

Glad to see this reply - I literally just pulled the trigger and ordered the 14-up for my bike last night. I have the Ultra and already have the RF Amp, Front and Touring Speakers. I am going to a 6 speaker system well This weekend! All confirmed with RF Tech Support that the AMP will drive this and the Bag Speakers will run in tandem with tour pack. Just have to make a harness jumper instead of running all the way up to the inner fairing. Piece of cake. Wires are all noted. Can you tell I am a bit excited!
