Micro4v2

Looks like my Micro4v2 didn't last a season. The right speaker is muffled like it's only playing very low freqs and the tweeter is not working. I've changed the connections at the amp and at the speaker cannon plug(before going into the pod) and the problem follows. If I change from HP to Flat on the right, the speaker begins to play again. Unless I'm missing something it looks like the amp is at fault.

So the question is, should I try another Micro4v2 or something else?

Brian

Edited to add: I'm running Hertz 1650.3 in the fairing and the Micro4v2 in bridged mode.

Identical setup on my 16 in its 4th season now. How many watts were you putting to them and what were they crossed at?

If you donít want another 4V2 maybe one of the new stingers has the power to push them. I run them with the 4250 in my 18, but thatís overkill if only running 2 speakers. Need something that can push 200W with some headroom left. Warranty on the 4V2 by any chance?

I ran the amp at 170 watts, 26 volts with a test tone bike running. The crossover at 80-85 hz. Don't get me wrong, I thought that setup ripped. I sounded awesome with plenty of volume. I was just sort of wondering if there was another amp that came out that would be worth a try. But I think finding another 4v2 would be easiest. Unplug the old and plug in the new.

I bought the amp on eBay so I don't think there's a warranty. Was sold to me as new and it did appear to be.

I didn't think the wattage was too high. Maybe crossed too low?

Micro4v2

Iíve got mine crossed there as well and running right at 200W so those settings donít throw a red flag to me at all.

AVC is off and ďmaxĒ volume of 14/17? Line leveler at default settings?

When you go to flat on that side is it good sound or just sound? Thatís interesting, hopefully others will chime in on that.

Yeah line leveler is stock settings. But the Velcro came loose and it fell down a few inches and sat there. Didn't see any damage from vibration. AVC is off. I've run it at 3/4 volume several times and higher on a few ZZ Top songs(and a couple others) that are pretty quiet. When I went to flat I don't recall if the sound was great but it made a huge difference because the right side had volume again. I didn't turn it up.

I'm pretty sure it was a fluke. I don't know if I'll find another for the price I paid for that one tho.
