Rear speakers worth it?

Hello all,

personally, i think they are, but i like being the loud guy in the room, so to speak. they're noticeable tooling around town, but less so on the the highway slab. i have speakers in my lids on both my Road Glide and Street Glide.

Absolutely worth it if they are quality speakers and are getting enough clean power. As far as the RF speakers, never heard them. I do know there are a lot of those speakers for sale. People buy the kit and sell the speakers.

Yep, just what Phillyfan said. I have lowers and lids. I know you said lower where not your thing but they make a big difference.

Just to add, I remove my lowers with speakers during the summertime months, and its a big difference at 80-85.
I demo'd a RG Ultra and the saddlebag speakers were nice around town, and with the stock exhaust, I could hear them at 60-70, but you'll never confuse that setup with 4 speakers in front of you....if that was your thing

I have the full Rockford 4 speaker system and I can hear them just fine at 80, I unhooked the bag speakers and could definitely tell they were not there.

I have not demo'd a ultra, but Im guessing they don't have very much power going to the lids. Throw some serious clean power to speakers that can handle it, tune it, and its a whole different ball game.
Not saying lowers take a back seat to lids at all. Lids set up give some very good sound. For me anyway.
From what I remember they do anyway. Bike has been ridden 4 times since the beginning of May. Way to hot here for me. Yesterday, at 8:30am 104 heat index. Humidity was in the 90s. I couldn't finish my yard work, got dizzy and hands shaking after 2hrs
