Amp fairings and lowers

That's it, I have the Rockford fosgate TM400X4ad, and the Rockford fosgate speakers for my fairing and for my lowers. I want to wire the fronts to the same channel. Can one of you audio experts chime in on how I should do this so I dont loose quality? Do t want to use the rear channel as I'm going to ad lids later. Thanks in advance!

What you are doing ( or want to do ) with yours is called parallel wiring. (2) left speakers to left channel and (2) right speakers to right channel. Run + to + and - to -

(2) 4 OHM speakers wired in parallel will draw a 2 OHM load on one channel. If you plan on adding lids later... just wait and run 4 channels to those 4 speakers for now and do this when your lids.

When you go to (6) speakers, running your (4) front speakers as stated above will draw a 2 OHM load from the front 2 channels of the amp.... and if you get 4 OHM speakers for the rear and wire direct, you will have a 4 OHM load. For this particular amp, there is NO DIFFERENCE in power unless you run BRIDGED. Some amps prefer a balanced load... all channels at 4 OHM or 2 OHM.. because they produce difference outputs at different loads... this amp, makes no difference ( unless BRIDGED )

Rated Power
(RMS Continuous Power)
100 Watts x 4 @ 4-Ohm
100 Watts x 4 @ 2-Ohm
200 Watts x 2 @ 4-Ohm Bridged

What is important... getting speakers that compliment each other as far as performance and draw ( load ) Some speakers take a lot of power to sound good... others, not so much. If you have a set of power hungry speakers in a system with another set that don't require as much... you will have to tweak your amp to get your best performance from both sets. This tweaking doesn't hurt anything, but may reduce optimum performance of the overall system depending on what your system components are and how well they work together.

Thanks a ton, I thought about the 4 channels but I want to have it all done so when I add the lids all I have to do is plug them in and not mess with the fronts anymore. Thanks a ton, was looking at diagram after diagram for wiring and confusing myself! Thanks again!
