What is the "I just want to hear my audio on the highway" package?

I just want to hear my audio system while riding on the highway. I'm not the kind of person that needs to impress people 6 blocks away with my music or the system.

I'm coming to the realization that it will cost me at least $1600 in parts. (Biketronics anyway)

Really? I'd like to hear some suggestions, if there are any.

(RANT - for a $34K bike, would it be that difficult to provide a default system greater than 25 f*ing watts? /RANT)

Anyone that asks me will get directed to a Biketronics kit. Reason being is that it works, the warranty has got to be one of if not the best in the business and the customer service is outstanding and something you will not find in most companies. BTW, this is my $.02 only. Are there better systems or can you build a better one for the money.... probably, but like I said, it works. I had the 2180.15 kit in my 2015 and I was way good with it and now a buddy of mine is enjoying it in his. On my 2019 I stepped it up a little and went with their 4250 amp with upgraded fronts while maintaining the stock rears. More than likely I will bring the rears up to speed this winter and install a DSP to get some increasingly better sound but like I said before.... It works.

Some companies that offer bike setups, not recommending any one particular. It really depends on what you want to do and how much you want to spend. The below are just the ones I can think of at the moment that offer packages and plug & play most without having to have your radio flashed.

Biketronics
Soundz Customz
Hog Tunes
J&M Audio

The BikeTronics setups are great, you won’t be disappointed. AND, there’s a couple of us (me included) that have BikeTronics amps, line levelers, mounting brackets and even speakers for sale here on the forum. It’s not a reflection of dissatisfaction, but more a reflection of we are crazy and keep going bigger, at least in my case.

Let me know if you are interested in my components and I’ll make you a package deal.

I'm the same way. I decided to just shell out $1,550 for the J&M Stage 5 and and flash updater. They are having a black Friday sale with 25% off. They did say that their 400watt system would be enough for my needs, and it's much less expensive. But with the sale, I just went with this.

My package shows up today and I'll install it tomorrow.

I looked at the Biketeonics systems but I couldn't find a 4 speaker package for my bike (2019 RGU) so I eliminated them. I also didn't like their 2000's era website layout.

I had J&M setups in My 2013 and 2015 Road Glides. You will be very happy with the output!

I went with BikeTronics for the 2018 because the BikeTronics team is amazing and the cost was actually lower. They don’t have the same “package” setups, and the online stores/websites for both companies could use some modernization, but BikeTronics absolutely could help design a setup around virtually any need.

Save some money brother and put your own package together. How many speakers and location.
Stinger or MMats amp
MMatts 6.5 coax
Biketronics LL. 2 of them if you want to keep the fade option.
Amp wiring kit, inline fuse.

If going with 4 6.5s you might be able to sneak in under a grand or right around it.
There are bikes with some serious systems running those MMat speakers, they won't disappoint.

No cutting factory wires, if that's what you mean by plug and play.

Eggwhite has this setup, with the MMats amp. for 4 6.5s and 1 amp, it is real nice.

This is a easy bolt in job. Half a day and you will be rocking.

Nowadays, there are so many great amplifiers as well as speakers for motorcycle use it's well worth researching them and making your own decision on what fits your likeness and needs.
When I was looking to update My Audio System I researched Google, YouTube as well as Our Great Forum and The Other Forums' Great Audio Section and made My Own decision and am very happy that I did.
I hope that anyone that's interested in hearing Their Audio clean and clear finds what they are looking for.
Best of Luck to All!

I salute you guys who enjoy your music on the highway and around town, but it scares me to be honest, it's one more distraction and down here the drivers are s***house, as we say. I tried music through speakers on a ride, rural and urban, and I found myself concerned with skipping a track, adjusting volume, fast-forwarding to something to fit my mood, and then I realised I was NOT paying attention to the road.

The M8 is the music, to me. I use my speakers in the garage LOL

(sorry)

@HellInABucket

You have two plug in 7 pin DIN headsets that came with your bike when you bought it correct? If you want to see if a headset is even to your liking, barrow a 3/4 or FF helmet or hell just go to Walmart and buy a cheap 3/4, they have them.

Hook it up and jump out on the highway and see if it meets your needs. It will be cheaper then buying new stereo equipment or a fancy wireless set up. If you find it to meet your needs then you can go from there.

I can tell you that most if not all headsets made for half helmets aren't gonna have the quality of sound that one mounted in a 3/4 or FF helmet will.

I use the Apple powerboats earbuds, my iPhone and the Apple carplay system via the WHIM. Just plug the phone into your USB port and everything is right there, ready to go. I control the sound via the bluetooth settings on my phone and the song selection-playlist via the carplay software on my bike. You can receive and send text messages via the earbuds as well as receive and make phone calls. The system is always listening. Just tell Siri what to do. As in "Hey Siri, read my unread messages." She will, then she will ask if you want to respond. Hit send message on your infotainment screen and you're done. All wirelessly. Once this is all done, double tap on your earbuds and the music resumes.

Battery life for the earbuds is up to nine hours and the sound quality is excellent.

Harley makes an NO3 full face wireless helmet that I would consider for long trips but not for daily riding.

Good luck.

Not an iPhone user. Android. I've learned over the last couple of months that Android phones are not able to stream via USB, which now that I think about it, may be the reason Harley doesn't support Android Auto.

Soundz

Now... many have replied with several options and I'm not going to tell you what to choose....That's now how I roll. There are many good systems out there... some good, some better and some great... price will dictate most definitely on what is chosen.

I will tell you to do your research and LISTEN to as many setups as you can find before pulling the trigger and DON'T SETTLE! Settling is the WORST thing you can do as you will NOT be happy in the long run spending more than what you initially thought was 'too much'

Im a Soundz dealer... I don't 'put down' any other company or system... that is not good business practice. I will tell you that I have pulled many systems and replaced them.... for one reason....they like what they heard better than what they had. IF YOU DONT LIKE WHAT YOU HAVE... that's what starts the hunt. How far you are able and willing to go with it is what you need to figure out.

I have quite a few videos on YouTube ( tgrisko ) that you can listen to and watch. from 2001 Harleys up to brand new 2020's.... from budge-minded systems to top of the line. These videos don't do justice as being right in front of you does, but give you an idea of performance and clarity at a distance from the bike.

Just research and get what you want at the price that is right for you... BUT DON'T SETTLE.

After replacing a second set of "oem" speakers I said no more. Began researching on google, youtube, the other forum, PM RG members, and riding buddies. Most of my riding buds have a broad range of systems mentioned in this forum, and just don't have the sound I'm looking for (at speed or sitting still)...hell most of them say the same and they just settled for it.
I've made up my mind now though and just waiting for my extended bags to come in.

i have android and would never buy iphone since i threw away my iphone 4, as for utilizing carplay, just download the incar app for android from google play store. it mimicks the apple and have your radio flashed so it thinks it has the WHIM plug it into the usb or use thru BT and i get streaming from music on my phone and. i get waze maps on phone and receive turn by turn and music thru spotifi or pandora while using handle bar controls. i don't have voice activation due to not actually having the WHIM.. but i'm happy. click here for google apps for the incar android app

That is just an interface emulator. It doesn’t make an Android phone work with CarPlay, it just makes Android Auto LOOK like the CarPlay screen.
