Static or white noise

I recently bought a 2009 screaming eagle road glide and had the dealer(useless) install a hawg wired system... amp and 2 speakers plus a hidden antenna, today I noticed that if the bike is in the on position and the radio is on with the volume all the way down I can hear noise coming from the speakers? sounds like a little bit of light crackling and light static? is that the amp causing that? called the useless dealer and the jerk said he doesnt know... he even asked in a smart ass way do you listen for noises? I play my radio at 9.5 and hear nothing? well I am sure someone hear can give me some advice, thanks for looking.

Contact Frank at Dragos Bike Works(he's very active in the Engine Build sub-section and also has a sponsor sub-section). He is a Hawg-Wired dealer so he probably knows more about that system than most HD dealerships.

That's to bad the your "USELESS DEALER" is no help. some of them just want the $$$$ & that's all it's about. good luck

Question Static

Please don't take offense to this question, have you checked the levels on the radio?
Maybe the "tone" could be too high?

When you track down the problem make sure to post the fix. There are some Hawg-Wired owners here, but we probably haven't had it turned down that low.

Sounds like a ground problem to me. You got a remote wire thats hooked up to your cig.lighter, and a hot and ground wire, and thats it! I dont no about the hidden antenna, but I think they hook up to your cig. lighter to. So dealer probably spliced them to wires together, and mayb grounded at the same spot as your amp. Its hard to tell w/o watching or being hands on at the time of install. I'm guessing, but take it back to the dealer that installed. Your bars got installed by an indy., if I remember correctly? Call them and have them fix it. Your better off!!!
