Noise or interference

just finished fitting a new system
RS400 - Reference Series 400W Amplifier
ZX654-100 - ZX Series 6.5 Component Speakers
Kenwood KDC-X 897 head unit.
I am very happy with the whole setup and it is pretty good sound well IMHO anyways

But there is one annoying thing.
What sounds like feed back or interference, a real buzzing .

Any ideas on where to look or what to change?

Appreciate any help
cheers
Max

Hooking your amp up to the Hi level input side will usually cure this.

If that does not work call Hawg Wired. They are very helpful.

Spoke with Mike at HW and as suggested above switched to Hi level inputs and now it's perfect.

So are you saying you changed from RCA inputs to speaker level inputs?

yes exactly, Mike explained that some after market head units have a poor earthing arrangement and the best way to resolve it is by using speaker inputs

I wonder if grounding the chassis of the head unit to the chassis of the amp would help eliminate this? I've seen RCA connectors with a built in drain wire to help in grounding....
