My Dyno Results

I thought would share since this tells difference between true duals and power duals with 255 cams. My slip ons are VH Hi Output, also have SE Heavy Breather.

Last year had True Duals put on with Kury Crusher slip ons with stock engine. Did not have Heavy breather on then just stage one kit. I ended up not liking results in sound and loss of torque that I could feel.

The 1st one I did last year lost the Dyno Sheet but was around 75hp and 93tq.

Last week took in and had 255 Cams installed with Power Duals. Reason have Dyno with True Duals with 255 Cams is because forgot to put Power Duals on before Dyno. So had to redo. Note still same slip ons.

Results with Cams,Heavy Breather,True duals...83.11 HP with 103.98 TQ.

Results with Cams,Power Duals,Heavy Breather...86.67 HP with 105.23 TQ.

Both Dyno within 24 hour period.

I have not been able to ride yet due to rain.

Those number are right on track. But its STD not SAE you will see 3/4HP less.
Im surprised your Tq curve was not more to the left with power duals.

I see that the true duals hit the 100 ft lbs of torque sooner but it fell off sooner as well. The power duals torque hit the 100 ft lbs of torque later and fell off later. The few lbs of torque would hardly be noticeable but the difference in torque curve would be a little more noticeable.
Where the cam hits and falls off the 100 ft lbs torque is typical of the SE255 cam.
When I had the SE255 cam in my bike with V&H big shot true duals and a stage 1 intake and the bike dynoed at 107+ ft lbs of torque.
Elevation and humidity has a lot to do with dyno reading.
I am using the Woods TW 222 cams now and I like them much better than the SE255 cams.

What we have seen when using the the V&H high output muffler with a pwr dual it will dip and and move the tq curve to the right . We have tested the HO muffler against other V&H mufflers and the crusher and found that the Ho is not the best match for smaller engines with mild mods. Many times though the power change is not going to be a massive impact on rider seat of the pants feel.

Using a muffler with a 2.0 or 2.25 core would offer a tq curve that would come in faster with that build. Great data

HP and TQ curves look same as my power duals, cfr muffs, SE intake, SE255 cams. Enjoy it!

Dyno

Well finally got to ride and like the better Torque and power. Not fond of the noise . I think i am gonna get rid of the High Output slip ons. I am getting reversion real bad or Cam over lap think they called it. Said not enough back pressure. Probably go back to RCX Exhaust. Going to call Vance and Hines to see if have any suggestions.

Well I would think you are dealing shop in Houston if you want I can suggest a shop that knows what is going on. That is west of you

Both head pipes work fine. we have dyno tuned and ran countless test on that muffler from 103 builds to 124 never seen it be a great item.

IF you want a muffler that will work and reduce noise ,look into the mellow crusher. I run them on my 124 they will never short you on power and they have no drone, very nice DEEP rumble.

Louvered mufflers are all the same , They are not going to vary much all will have the same type of sound and most are even made the same. The billet tips and such make them look better thats about it.

Well have a rinehart system to tune. Good luck , i have work to do.

Whats funny is i had the Kury Crusher on with my True Duals but was not the Mellow ones. It had to much cracking noise for me. Guess Crushers have more back pressure. What about Freedom American Outlaws any experience with them. Thanks

Sound is not back pressure.... And maybe it was not tuned correctly as I have them on one of our shop bikes with true duals. No crackling, no popping , just louder than the mellows.

The outlaw is a large baffle is will create a tq dip. The quiet freedom baffle is just wrapped..

LOOK for a 2.25 spiral louver baffle its that simple. 2.5 baffle or a 2.5 then step to 3 is not what you need.

Find a smaller core that is spiral louver. Good luck

Have you noticed the woods cams having an increased noise level vs the SE? I'm debating bewteen woods, SE, and maybe feuling. I have a stock '07 96ci with Reinhart duals right now, but will be doing a 103 with cams this winter.
