Dyno results are in.

Well. It was 5 hours on the dyno. And I believe he had a time trying to get the mystery motor dialed in. Only info I had was stock throttle body. And the 590s the head work was a guess if it was done or not. What's your opinion? I'm a bit surprised it hit 100hp the way it is. They said heads and they'll get a lot more. But. I don't know. I didn't care if the motor was stock when I bought the bike. I'm just trying to get the most out of what's there. I told them I was not as concerned about overall peak numbers as much as dependable and cool. It's definitely a lot cooler. And it runs great. No pops on deceleration. No hesitation. What you can tell now is it has cams. Thing lopes pretty good at an idle.

RSD aviator air cleaner
Rush full ceramic true duals
V&H High Output slips ons. Not sure what model. But they're the $850.00 ones that were on it when I bought it.
590 cams
Baker attitude adjuster in the primary.

I think further investigation is necessary into the tune / clutch etc.

I can understand the dip and where it is, but as choppy as that dyno is I would think it there is an issue with either the clutch or tuning or possibly both.

They can run a gear check against that pull and give you that graph as well.

Would they still have that file? Can you explain the dip for me. Thanks.

From about 2800 this thing just pulls with no end in sight. Dropped a gear to pass a car on the highway in an instant I was over 100. Didn't realize it. Speed limit is 70. I usually cruise at 75.

The tuner should have the run file its just a matter of changing the print out fields.

The dip is generally attributed to the exhaust, but can also be clutch. As an example the dip can be caused by not enough back pressure. It is seen in the original fat cat and the thunder header in those cases there are tricks like closing tabs on thunder header or bolt /lollipop put in the D&D the can tune a lot of the dip from 2800-3600 out but never seem all of it gone but mitigated it. Clutch is something that I would check might not be holding well down low so when it finally holds good you go like a bat out of hell.

I'd put money on the dip being the result of the true duals. The choppiness could be the clutch slipping, but with where he is power-wise, I'd think the stock clutch would be okay.

Thanks guys. I am not a fan of true duals. Had the Reinhart 2-1 on my SG. Only went to duals because the mufflers were on it and it saved me 500 bucks. Or more. It's the last time I'll ever run them. These sound great. And at 850.00 for the set I assumed more performance (back pressure). The bike has 43k on it. So clutch is a possibility.

I can afford things once. Not able to change my mind without thought. And cash. I do good for where I'm at. But the bike money is gone for the summer. As it stands with all the parts and labor. With a tune I'm at close to 2500.00. Putting out 8k for my kids lawyer didn't help.

May be a dumb question but if he would have used a power commander in auto tune. Would his numbers been the same and his graphs wiggly like that?

Heavier clutch plate may be an inexpensive thing to try out. Just a thought. Was thinking I'd install one when I add cams.
