05 Road Glide motor swap

Im trying to find out if a 08 street glide 96" motor and transmission will fit my 05 frame. Ive seen a few post but none say if they actually was able to get it done or not.

The basic frame is the same from 98 to 08 except for the top motor mount on the 08 frame. But I never did the swap so there may be some small discrepancies that need to be dealt with.
If you already have the 96 inch with the 6 speed trans and you are doing the work yourself you should give it a try.

Yes, 96" motor/Transmission from 2006 to 2008 will fit your frame. But you must have the correct transmission to go with the correct motor. The 96" motor must have the 6 Speed Transmission. And the 88" motor must have the 5 Speed Transmission.
The 5 Speed will not mate up correctly to the 96" motor.

Correct. Older motor oil lines are ran externally, and the newer engines and trans are internal.

Owns " One of those big wheel baggers" you can't ride

I just swapped my 08 out and dropped a 12 motor in. If you want a few pics of 08. Let me know
