Well I have had my glide for a week now. I have become comfortable with this platform after 500 miles after several years on a night rod. I have given the stock bike a lot of thought on how to make it MY bike. Before I get too crazy I thought I would post a few ideas here and get some feedback.

I am a long time army EOD tech, still in the FLARNG, and love blowing stuff up.
I also have a hobby gun manufacturing shop. The shop has taken on more work which led me to order a bigger haas CNC mill. Because of this I plan to incorporate an EOD theme with a minor in classic guns. Everything I can replace on the bike with custom billett parts will be replaced in this theme. I have started the cad design portion and am awaiting the arrival of the new machine. Should be less than a month now.

As for the engine, I am assuming Harley makes a tuner and high flow air for the 13 road glide. I put both on my night rod and liked the results. I will have to research pipes a bit more as everyone states theirs is the best. I want performance but not super loud.

The bike is denim black so all of the parts I make will be anodized matte or flat black. Now to change the other chrome parts to black.

Finished the Derby Cover, what say ye?
How it will look black. I painted it flat black and took a skim off the top. I am going to go with the anodizing then hit it with clear after the clean up cut.

Welcome from Louisiana...No recommendations from me. Sounds like you have a good plan. It will be a one of a kind when you make all the pieces yourself. Should be a cool looking scooter. Post pics of it as you do the build.

Welcome! Prepare to get inundated by answers. Hit the search button for pipes, A/C, etc., and you'll get opinions. First off, basic mods will be, among other things, "do we chrome it out or black it out?" No right or wrong, but doing either will dramatically change the looks.

I use the HD Heavy Breather A/C and Vance & Hines Monster Round Slip Ons. PLENTY of "beef", moderate volume. Need more? Go to V & H Hi-Outputs, Reinharts, (or plenty others) or the CFR slip ons. Real CFRs or CFR Knock-offs you ask? Good question! Big difference in $$$, some difference in sound and quality.

I love the Battistinis stuff also, without going to the extreme. Biggest complaint with V & H slip ons and HD Heavy Breather is that "everybody has them...I want my scoot to be different".

Still, I haven't seen a scoot set up exactly as mine. However, with your ability to MAKE parts, the sky is the limit! To each his own:

That is definitely my idea. I have built custom 1911's as well as other firearms since the late 80's. I always guide the customer to build their own gun instead of copying someone else's. The same goes for bikes, I can buy a lot of bolt on parts and have a bike that looks like everybody else's or make my own theme and parts. This bike will be a keeper so the sky will just be the base of my limit. I have already started with the drawings so it won't be long after the new machine arrives. I have the floor boards already designed and they are definitely one of a kind. I will post pics of the process and end results as I begin.
Thx for the other advice as well, I will start searching as I have 4 more hours left in this flight.

Thanks. my background is black. Never seen the motorcycle.com app. No more yellow I guess, since so many of you guys are using that app. Just curious as to why you guys use the app?

Well the time is near. Many of the new parts are drawn and awaiting the new HAAS mill arrival. The estimated date of arrival is 9/18 and I hope to be making parts for my bike by 9/21 or 22. I will update with pics as soon as I have some. Since I am an EOD tech my bike will have an EOD theme. I have some good friends who have a shop called the rusty sprocket, they have given me lots of ideas on mods for my glide.

Hey, like fabin, my thoughts are , shift linkage, crashbar to fairin braces, plate frame of course, maybe a bada$$ front fender Bling and definatley a custom rack on the back that no-one could touch even the LEO's would nod at it.
