Lowers on a 2009 cvo

SO, I'm thinking about getting a set of HD vented lowers and some speakers for them. I have a couple of questions I hope someone can answer. I currently have hoppe lowers on my glide, but I don't like how i have to mount them. I have to remove half of my fairing support brackets and attach a different mounting piece which then lets you mount the lower fairings on it. So, if I buy a new set of HD lowers, they don't look like they have to mount like that, correct? Do I have to change my fairing support brackets at all? I also want a set of speakers in them, cvo maybe?, or J&M's. How do you run the wires for them to the speakers? Some quick connects in case of removal? Wires just out in the open coming down from the front fairing?

Thanks
Scottie

Having an 09, I'm pretty sure you're going to have to change to the 10 & up support. I drilled a hole in my engine guards to run the speaker wire, no quick disconnect without wires hanging. As far as speaker pods..... can't help you there, I had fairing factory.

Went with Harley Vented Lowers, J&M Rokker XT Pods, (Painted '09 CVO Charcoal Slate by Gunslinger)
'10 & later brackets, ran the speaker wires along the underside of the crashbar, the J&M harness has plugins. Happy!

The Vented Lowers / Pods and '10 & later Brackets were the final piece of the puzzle for Aerodynamic Nirvana for me! Nothing but clean air at any speed!

Along with the Rokkers / Rokker 500w in the fairing, clear, full sound (for the bsr too) at 90+

For me, it doesn't get any better than this...

Like mentioned you will need 2010 brackets to fit the vented lowers. One other thing is the paint stripes on your CVO will not match up when you raise the fairing. I did a simple tank raise to compensate for the difference. Do a search on this site, there is a ton of info already posted on the subject.
