painting over factory stipes & logo

im painting my 2002 RG,when wet sanding to parts,do I need to sand thru the stripes & logo or just get them where you cant feel them?

Sand them off, otherwise as the paint and clear gasses out and shrinks the edge pop.

Sand them completely off. Prime and sand a couple more times and then seal. Factory stripes are the worst to show thru months after the paint dries.

There is a 3-M stripe eraser rubber wheel that you put on your cordless drill that removes the stripe with out harming the paint underneath, sand thru the clear on the stripe first and when all the vinyl is removed feather out the area and the rest of the tank, prime prep and paint.
