Painting stock cowbells

Has anyone ever painter the stock cowbells? Do you go with an afterwarket one instead that is smoother?

I had mine powder coated for $45.00. I have had no problems with the finish, and they look great. They match my lowers. I powder coated them both black, so my whole fork assembly is now black. I love the look.

I had mine painted by a 3rd party painter who does a lot of work for the HD dealer around here. Mine look great, seams on the back turned out just fine. Mine are also clearbra'd so I shouldn't see any unsightly rock chips

If painting with epoxy paint yourself, has anyone ever done the lowers and cowbells with them still on the bike?

Never done/had it done but the local painter that does all the dealership work does do exactly that......I've never heard anything bad and everyone I've seen has looked really freaking nice
