Vented lowers on a '17

I added vented lowers off of eBay this week. I had non-vented lowers on my '08 with Sancho's Wings and loved them. $114 and a week later they were at my door. They were matte black and matched perfect. Mounting was easy. I purchased the quick mount kit and didn't use it. The lower mount moved the lowers to high to properly mount to the upper crash bar. The bolts that come with the kit go on quick enough and with vented lowers I'm hoping not to have to remove them in the warm weather.

This morning was the first test. Thirty-two degrees, dark, and calm. I don't have the defectors mounted on the inside of the fairing and I noticed a lot of wind coming up through the opening. The '04-'09 non-vented lowers match the lines of the bottom of the fairing. These are more like my Ultra's and have a large gap between the bottom of the fairing and the top of the lowers. This afternoon it was fifty and much nicer weather to ride in.

For $114 these were a bargain!!!

Nice grab, and another good reason for owning a black bike. They look great on your bike, and you can't beat that deal with a stick.

Your comment "a large gap between the bottom of the fairing and the top of the lowers" had me running out to look at my bike. Couldn't squeeze my pinky finger through that gap. Only about a 1/4" clearance between the two. I guess one man's gap could seem like another man's canyon.

$114 is a steal! Looks great!

BTW... for the summertime ( for you ) and more airflow for me... I took the blank plates out and added the Ultra radiator screens and left out the inner bottom panel....

I considered these. But with getting caught in the rain as much as I do I'm gonna hold off. But they look good and I'm sure they allow more air flow. After gutting my cat and adding fuel it's not that bad.
