Limited edition paint ???

Can anyone tell me about this paint ? #18 of 200...on a 2010 FLTRX. Is it rare, or does it add value? I can't find any info on it online anywhere. I'm selling my 2008 FLTR to buy this bike, and am curious about the limited edition paint set.

I can tell you that it is one damn expensive paint set. one of those sets, complete with tourpack and lowers and extended bags will run you about $10,000.

now having said that. you're looking at a 2010 fltrx. according to Kelly blue book, it has a trade in value of $11,450 and a retail value of $15,385. now retail assumes that you're buying from a dealer. private party would be somewhere in between those two. if it were me, depending on the overall condition of the bike, I wouldn't pay over $15 for it.

I understand the concept of reality, but find it too confining for a way of life.

I'm into it good, the bike is like new with less than 5K on it, I made a deal for $12

You don't happen to know what they called that paint set do you ?

Have you tried going to a local HD shop to see if they have a 2010 parts catalog still? All the limited paint sets are usually in the back. They may be able to look it up online as well. Sounds like your getting a good deal and the original owner wasted a lot of $$$$ for 5k miles.

Currently bikeless but sticking around for knowledge.

3 owners...2 of which are/were associated with HD dealerships....The original owner, and the guy that paid the paint and accessary bill was a dealership owner. I can't believe a bike that nice can make it's way to 3 different people who can't find the time to ride it...I've put more miles on a bike in about a week.

I'll try the old catalog route this weekend...I'm in the boonies, 100+ miles from a dealership.

Abomb,

Sounds like you made a good deal. Some of those paint sets never sold so that would make it even a rarer set. One dealer here has a paint set on the wall of his shop for an 09-13 RG that I have seen there for a least 3 years. Dealer cost vs retail are also two very different prices.

Ride on!

So, I called a dealer and found out a little about it...it is a 2010 part number, the design was called "Fearless" and was painted by Gunslinger custom paint in Colorado...It never appeared in the catalog, (which makes me wonder how on earth they ever sold any of these sets) and I can only find one example online, and it's on a road king... I still haven't seen the bike in person, the seller is out of town until the weekend...I probably won't get to see it until we're exchanging money. I'm just hoping that the red is the factory Scarlett Red, so I can color match my existing tour pak...None of this is real important I guess, just a way to kill some time while I wait impatiently to pick up a new ride....The waiting is killing me...
