Fuel Tank Question

OK Guys I have searched everywhere and either I am not able to articulate what I am looking for or no one has done this before, I am betting on the first.
I am wondering if a fuel tank from an 1998 - 2007 road glide would fit on an 1986-1996 tour glide. I am looking at aftermarket tanks and the only ones I find are for 1997 up. I am thing it would fit the only changes I know of are the lower seat on 1997 up but I cannot afford to spend 400.00 plus on a guess. thanks for any knowledge on this

Its unlikely to fit unless you modify the mounts which shouldn't be to hard on a bare steel new tank before painting.

Thanks Reds

probably not , I'm pretty certain the mounting tabs are different

and you are taking a tank designed for fuel injection and putting it on a carb bike , there are some difference in the tanks for that , can be modified , but ..

You should be able to find a used tank for any FL series from your bikes year range

TG's are cool
