HD Shuts Down LiveWire Production

HD just had their press event for the intro of the new LiveWire and has received a lot of press about the new electric motorcycle this past week and now they've had to announce a shut down of the production line due to "charger problems". Just another big black eye for Levatich their CEO. This guy's gotta go. He has a history of blowing hundreds of millions of dollars on projects like the purchase of MV Augusta.

UPDATE: HD has warned NOT to charge them at home using 110v, only on the DC rapid chargers at the dealerships. Sounds like a burning/fire issue but they haven't said yet what the issue is. They said they're doing more testing .......

Was in Milwaukee last weekend and saw 3 or 4 go zipping by. Looked like plenty of off the line go but crotch rocket riding position like a Buell. So I won't be getting one.

I predicted the Short Circuit wouldn't make it long . I didn't think it would flounder right off the starting line.
The motor co.must of found something real bad in the engineering to stop production like that.

Eh, a production shutdown won’t last long. Who cares? This is just a bump in the downhill road. A production shutdown just means they give a crap about the final product. If that means something better or prevent issues down the road if I were an owner, I’d welcome it.

I thought the price would sink that model, not a shitty design. Years of research and it lasts a month. Incredible.

You would think if they gave a crap about the final design, all issues would have been resolved before the release.

Eh, that stuff happens all the time, you just don't hear about it. The only reason this really made the news is because of all the hype and attention the Livewire is getting. Again, I don't see the shutdown as a big deal. Now if they said halt production for good, that'd be something.
