Questions for JMJOHN

I know I will get the bias answer but...... I just bought a 2013 Roadglide. A couple of questions.
1) I am leaning toward getting the HD version of the Zumo and bluetooth headset in the future. I think this will get me phone, xm radio, cb, am/fm radio, and rider to passenger communication, along with the nav voice. Is that right?

2) So until I get the zumo and bluetooth headsets I wanted to add one wired headset. I got the one HD headset with the bike. I think it has the 3/4 helmet boom mike. I want to purchase one ff helmet headset for myself and she gets the 3/4 helmet HD set, she will not wear a ff. So how does the new cord work? "This new cord gives you a convenient way to connect ear-canal type speakers, while still allowing your helmet mounted speakers to play simultaneously." I don't understand, do you wear both or does this allow everthing to go through an ear canal headphones?

3) Is the music really better on the J&M? How often do the wires fail?

Thanks for your input, I want to make a purchase pretty soon. Just got the bike, a new Arai Vector 2, merry christmas to me.

Thanks, James (PigDog)

For a little more than the second HD headset is going to cost you can buy your BT headsets. That's what I did, I ordered the SENA SMH-10 (2) pack for me and the old lady. And I will be listing the headset that came with the bike soon, this will help offset some of the cost. If you do the same then basically you break even but have bluetooth. Then later when you get the GPS you just pair everything.

Right now I have fun with the person to person communication when the wife is riding, and when she isn't I'm enjoying Pandora streaming to my helmet, as well as the navigation from the phone, and phone calls if need be, but I try to stay away from that.

Just my $0.02

I have a Cardo Scala Rider G4 that we have used some. I guess I am just curious about the wired communication built in the bike. I want to wait until I get the Zumo (XM Radio) for bluetooth. I guess I may be able to use my current bluetooth if I get the zumo and the navigation interface module (NIM). I just got a new bike for Christmas. My Bday is in March, better get the Zumo on the list. I guess I am hoping for good integration with the Harley stereo, cb, navigation, xm, phone, and rider to passenger communication. I would like it all integrated into my headset.

pigdog ,,,,,

I think you should look at this unit before you purchase the Zumo ,, http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail....ctID=CFBR-HRUC ,,,,,,,

as for J&M headset cords ,,,, if you purchase our elite series headsets with the z-series cord system, they should last for 5-10 years under normal use ,,,,

with Bluetooth headsets you get no CB radio, no simultaneous stereo music with vox intercom etc ,,,,, and bike to bike range is limited to less than 1/2 mile ,,,,,, AND you then have the task of charging batteries every night or the headsets won't work the next day ,,,,,

if you are set on the Zumo for navigation commands and XM radio ,,, run it into your aux input on the Harley system and use the J&M Bluetooth integration module for the cell phone ,,,,,

should ALL work like a champ ,,,,,

$599 for the integration module and $650 or $800 for the Zumo?

Do I still have to use the Harley Zumo and get the Navingation Interface Module (NIM)? I like the idea of not going with bluetooth. So this product will integrate everything and add my phone? The question I keep coming back to is do I really need my phone. I now foresee getting the Hd Zumo first and a J&M headset for myself. I will give my wife the HD one for the meantime. This will give me everything on the bike and I can use the CB for bike to bike communication. Later add the J&m module if I feel I need the phone. I hate keeping stuff charged.

Do not buy the CFBR HRUC. I have this unit and am very disappointed in the performance. If you look up the part number, you will see my review.
