360w vs 180w

is the 360w amp worth the extra money? i mean really? i understand the sound will be better. i guess its do i want to spend the money to be louder huh?

Im no audio expert... but from my experiences to get any added benefits out of the bigger amp you will need speakers that can handle it. Low to mid end speakers will probably distort at high volumes causing them to eventually blow. Turning the gain down will help but then your not getting any benefits of the bigger amp. Hope that helps... Im sure some of our true audio guys will help out soon.

360 watts vs 180 watts will have an increase of 3 decibels louder only if you can get more efficient speaker could be a cheaper route to concider.

Also, a speaker is much more likely to blow when fed a distorted signal from an amp with too LITTLE power. Better to have a clean signal and not use all the amp's ability.

yes sending a clip signal is not good but too much power will fry the voice coil pick the less evil :-)
