Is there anything wrong with...

installing an inline (water proof) switch (mounted in the glove box) in the trigger wire of the Rokker 500w amp, so that I have the option of turning the amp on / off when I am listening to the head phones, Bluetooth, or whatever, while riding ~ the '09 SERG came with the speaker switch in the dash.

Or could I just wire it to work off the speaker switch in the dash? Is it a pita to wire it into the speaker switch on the dash ~ do I have to butcher the wiring harness?

'Am running preamp outs on the HK if that makes any difference.

'Wanted Iron Cross Audio to install a trigger wire in the HK, they said it really wasn't possible, as there is no switched 12v source in the HK to tap into.
