Nope, they're double-sticky taped and screwed on.

I have had mine for over a month, and only use the hardware, not the sticky tape. Works fine for me. Take'em off easily for cleaning...

I don't see the detachable version on the website any longer.

Sancho, no detachable? I was thinking of going detachable after custom painting the glide.

(or was I dreaming when I ordered mine earlier this year)

The sticky tape didn't work very well on my painted inner fairing. The first time I had to take out the screws to remove the outer fairing, one of the wings came off and the tape took the paint with it. I'm not ready to blame the tape, it could just as easily been the paint's fault. But if I was doing it over, I'd either remove the tape from the wing prior to installation or leave the backing on and just go with the screw.

Why would you want to take them off in the first place? I mounted my "removable" ones when I got them... and guess what.... I still have not removed them. They work well with rain and all that. Besides, a Bee does hurt at 90 MPH against your knee.

I was considering not using the tape, but wonder if the wings would move around at speed.

I seriously doubt it. There should be plenty of tension holding it in place as long as the screw is tight.
