Question Which shield with Sancho's Wings?

I'd like to hear from "Wings" users.

Which windshields seem to work well in tandem with Sancho's Wings?

Interesting concept. I can say that a 12" windvest with hogg chopp lowers works quite well.

Not having tested all the shields on the market and different heights it will be very interesting indeed to see some opinions.
I don't know if my opinion counts but I have a 12" Winvest and HD lowers. The Wings worked the same with or without the lowers. I won't ride without them, regardless of the outside temp. I am 6', 32" inseam, C&C seat on a 2010.

The Wings will add approximately 6" width to the fairing, approximately 10" vertical height to lowers and that alone has to do something. I have experienced less wind noise and less buffeting.

When riding without the Wings and no lower fairing I experienced wind coming from somewhere going right to my face and upper body. While riding, with cruise on and no hands, I extended my arms with palms facing forward. Moving my palms around I found that the wind was coming from the side of my fairing when I followed the path of the wind bringing my palms closer to my face. Wala, Sancho's Wings were conceived.
With the number of Wings that I've sold here on the forum, eBay and my Website I'm pretty sure they have gone on bikes with about every shield on the market. So far, everyone seems to notice a reduction in buffeting.

This is a difficult question to answer as I personally don't have the resources to try all the diffferen't shields on the market with my Wings and I doubt anyone else does either. Most people buy 'em, like 'em and let it go at that.

The nice thing is if you buy 'em, don't like 'em, I'll give you your money back. I refuse to have an unhappy customer. My total refunds are .02%.

I've ran both 17" and 15" Cee Baileys TRSSC, and they both work perfect in conjunction with the hogg chopps and Sanchos wings. For me personally, I have found the perfect combination and sticking with what works for me.

I have H-D lowers, but would rather not use them.

My motivation for asking this question was to see if there are any shields that really compliment the Wings without using lower fairings. Likewise, maybe there are shields that just don't work with them. That's good info too.

I also have the WV 14" with soft lowers - I think the shield type/size doesn't really matter as the wings are part of the physical aspect of the fairing not the wind screen. The wings keep the wind off of your upper thighs; as Sancho said...it widens the fairing about 6".

If I understand the purpose of the Wings, it's not to keep wind off your thighs, but to quell the updraft that adds to helmet/head buffeting. And if that's true, the choice of shield would certainly play a role in that function.

Yep, that's the goal, I think the wings accomplish the goal by reducing the wind that hits your legs/body and travel up your body and into your helmet; lifting it. Since I don't usually wear a helmet the only thing I notice is the reduced cold air on my thighs. I think there will always be 'some' buffeting no matter what screen you have - it only takes a small angle deviation from, say, head-on wind, to be buffeted. And if the wind is gusting from any angle then you will surely have buffeting; I don't think it's ever eliminated but only dispersed. Your head height vs the screen height is the critical aspect, you must measure this distance to select the correct windscreen. And then buy lowers and wings to increase the dynamics of your wind 'footprint'.

I think this is the right spot to perhaps post this question...

Hello Gents, new the the forum...

I just picked up a 14" Windvest fro my 04 glide and although it is much quieter than my 12" Klockworks I still get quite a bit of buffeting above 65MPH.

After some reading it seems that the lack of lowers might be my issue, not the windshield...

I removed my engine guard, do you figure a set of sancho's wings would remedy this or is lowers the only way?
