Darksiding on an older bike?

I've already gone to the dark side with a car tire on my 09 and love it. I have a couple questions for anyone that's put a car tire on an older bike. My buddy is toying with the idea of giving it a try but he rides an 05 road king with a 150-80-16 rear tire. Is it possible for him to do it and if anyone has done it what size tire did you use? Thanks

I don't think your going to find a tire that narrow for a 16" rim... A quick look and a 195/75 is the closest... That's about 2" wider and 1" taller than his stock tire....

Yeah I figured that was going to be the problem. I know they make some pretty narrow tires but not for the 16" rims

I already put a car tire on my bike and I'm loving it. My buddy was asking me questions about it and was wondering what size car tire he could put on is older bike. I wasnt sure if he could do I'm asking if anyone here did and if so what did they use

Can you lean as good as a motorcycle tire? I saw the pros of a car tire, but not the cons.

I read in a few places that people had luck with a taxi tire from England. If I remember correctly, it was going to be around $200. I wasn't going to take the risk of it not working.

This will be my 2nd season with the car tire on the bike and I really haven't found any cons with it. My buddies never knew I had a car tire till I told them. They started to laugh because they told me I was still pushing them through the twisties like I was with the bike tire. They weren't going fast enough for me around the corners. There was never a time I felt in danger of going down because of the car tire

Haven't seen a car tire on a sport bike yet, so my answer to your question will be no.

Cruisers usually run out of lean angle before they get to the edge of the tire, so it might work on cruisers.

Whenever I have cornered someone alone who has a car tire they admit that there was a learning curve getting used to it and also said that it tracks imperfections in the road more than a bike tire did.

I took the new fat boy into the first set of curves and immediately turned around and brought it back. The salesman said I would get used to the handling and I told him that I don't want to ride a bike that I have to get used to the handling.
