Fat tire on 2017 Road Glide

I have a 2017 RG Special, I want to put a fatter front tire without having to buy the native custom cycle fat tire kit. what mods do I need to do and what’s the widest tire that I can put on the stock setup, I’m trying to do a low budget mod. Any help will be appreciated

Some members run a 160 front tire and say it works fine, but what i have researched it says a 150 is the biggest tire you can run on a stock rim safely. I plan on putting a 150 tire on mine next front tire change.

Welcome to the forum.
what brand tire are you planning on using when you put the 150 on? and what is the profile of that tire?

If you're talking behind my back - then you're in a good place to kiss my ass!!!

I'm running a Michelin commander II on the rear, so i'll probably go with the Michelin II on the front. I think it's a 150/70/18. My Dunlop is still got fairly good tread right now so i will probably run it a little longer.

Hopefully it's going to be a while before I need new shoes, but I've subscribed just to follow this. Really interested on how well the 150/170/18 works on the 2017/2018 bikes.

The front is a 19" on the specials and the rear is an 18".

Glad that you reminded me I'd like to think my Indy wouldn't try to install an 18" tire on a 19" rim
