Check your stock 2018 Rear Tires!

Just a friendly FYI -
Took my 2018 RGS in for a service and was told my rear tire was splitting and needed to be replaced.
I asked to see it, since in all my years, I've never had that particular issue. It appears to be splitting where the different compounds meet.
These was taken off my bike at about 13K and 8 months on the road.

Mine looks the same way also cupped real bad I have 18k on it.. I just ordered a set of MC II's.. Never been a fan of Dunlop.. I would not put another Dunlop on my bike even if it was free I ride to much and far to have this in my head..

Yeah, these tires are trash.. Couldn't afford two new tires to change from Dunlops, after this next rear is smoked.. back to Metzlers I go, I suppose.

Looks like that one cam out of the oven a little too soon.

did they hook you up some on warranty?

I understand the concept of reality, but find it too confining for a way of life.

I would have slapped a Commander II on the rear and left the front alone. Also long as it is the same size, profile, bias ply, and similar tread pattern you are OK.

In fact, when I had my Voyager 1700 I got the best performance out of a Bridgestone Excedra Max on the front and a Commander II on the rear.

Was this covered by the warranty? It clearly looks like a defect, not wear and tear.
