New Tire and Rim--lose 2lbs of air per night

Hit a pothole and popped tire and rim was bent. Road and hazard insurance covered for new rim and tire. I am losing 2 lbs of air per night. I will take to dealer tomorrow but any thoughts on how to fix? 2017 RGS. Thanks.

Do you have a black rubber valve stem or the metal kind? If you have the metal kind, more than likely 1 of 2 things has happened; A) whoever assembled your new wheel and tire over tightened the nut on the valve stem and split the rubber washer that is inside the wheel; or B) whoever assembled your new wheel and tire didn't tighten the nut on the valve stem enough and air is leaking past the rubber washer on the inside of the wheel.

Thanks for the insight. However, they installed a rubber valve. Do you think if they reseal the tire, it will fix the issue?

Yes I do. You can ask them to put bead sealer around the beads also. Also, the center core could be loose.

Did you check and make sure that the Schraeder Valve inside the Tire Valve is tight?

The simplest answer is usually the correct answer. ^^ I'd check that first.
