Front Rotor Thickness

I have a 2017 Road Glide Ultra. I measured the thickness of my front rotors and they were 0.2 inches. The shop manual says to replace if less than 0.18.

So the question that I have is how thick are they when new? I'm trying to figure out if I'm close to needing new rotors or if I'm a long way off. If close, I might as well do it now when the weather is lousy.

Also, I plan to replace them with the Harley floating rotors. I'm not sure what pads to pick. I recently replaced the rear pads with the OEM Harley pads. Any thoughts on this would be welcome.

Thanks
Emil

No need to replace most rotors we have measured here on your kind of bike measure between .200 and .205. I have never measured a rotor less than .180 so no worries there. I prefer the LRB Z plus brake pads over the Harley oem because they throw less brake dust and have good performance.

I second those pads. I have used 2 different compounds from that company and no complaints.

Cheers

Rotor Thickness

I measured rotors on a new RGU at the dealership. They were 25. Manual says replace if 18. Mine measured 20. The way I figured it is that I've used about 70 percent of the useful rotor. Thus, I am going to replace them while the weather is lousy and I have time.
