21 inch wheel

Is anyone running a 21 inch wheel on 2018 RG ULTRA? The HD dealer is telling me it will not work?

I’m not personally running one on my bike, I have installed a number of them on baggers, Ultras and Specials. Not sure why they’d tell you it wouldn’t work. All baggers run the same chassis.

I don’t know who your dealership is or why they would tell you that, but it’s bad information.

They probably told you that because the official HD 21 kit states that it does not fit bikes with fairing lowers. Im not sure why they make that claim, but we all know there are many aftermarket options that do fit.

Heres Harleys kit. Check the fitment tab and youll see what Im referring to: https://mstore.harley-davidson.com/s...19-43300496--1

Mine is a Special, and not an Ultra, but I have the fairing lowers and a 21" wheel. I did have to raise the front fender a tad, but no issues at all. No regrets.

I do know that a lot of the times, when the Harley catalog says "will not fit with...." it's because they have not physically tried it themselves.

Your dealer is wrong we have sold many 21" front wheels for your exact bike. Just make sure to get fender risers and also corrective ABS bearing for a 21".

If I put a 21" wheel on my 2017, do I need to do anything to the rear end to keep the same ride?
I'm assuming that by getting a 21" front wheel, that the ride height of the front end will increase by approximately 1". I'm 6'4", so I don't mind that. Should I raise the rear end by the same amount?

just curious here. the road glide cvo with the 21'' front wheel uses the same abs bearing as the road glide special with the 19'' front wheel. so is a 'corrective' bearing really necessary? and where does one find such a bearing?

I understand the concept of reality, but find it too confining for a way of life.
