Single front brake caliper?

Has anyone ditched the double-disc front set-up and switched to a left-side front caliper/rotor only ..... mostly to show off the front wheel? Pics?

I have done it on my two older FX bikes. Is anyone doing it to their RG?

I would envisage that on a touring bike this would mean a swap to a different-size master cylinder and a six-piston caliper? Of course the added difficulty on a modern RG is the ABS/sensors. Can it be done?

(I appreciate any potential federal/Mom-style safety warnings but I never have and do not ride like an idiot, and have NEVER experienced any negative-pucker issues with a single front brake )

I do not recall seeing a setup like that. If you go that route, post some pictures.

I have a number of customers that come through for work and they have single sided caliper setups. Matter of fact, I had to change a 30” tire on an FLHX today with one. Your ABS sensor is part of the left side wheel bearing so that won’t be affected. With having OEM dual calipers, I think you would need to change the front lower line out to aftermarket. I do believe if you check some aftermarket places, there are single caliper lines that you can swap in.

Thanks. I notice that H-D itself offers ABS and single front caliper on a few Softails, such as this Sport Glide. (pic)

I am going to investigate further.

My experience is losing a significant amount brake performance. I have a 21" with a 13" rotor and hhi 6 piston caliper. I wouldn't do it again. Looks cool though.

Years ago I was test riding a cruiser at a dealership and came back to tell him that the front brake felt like his detail guy got wax on the brake pads.

He said I was probably the first guy to test ride a cruiser to use the front brake. LOL!
