Harley tire pressure monitors

Did this last night at work. You can put the cvo tire pressure valve stems in an ultra. Go into digital tech and assign them/setup. Blah blah. You have to go under the radio flash and turn on the tire pressure option. Works just fine. Have not tried it on a special rear rim. But I would guess it should work. You just have to tell the guys from now on when you get s tire change that they are in there. The tire machine may reach the dodads cuz we are putting them on the wrong rim. H-D specifies for center valve stem mounts only. That way they are sure to clear the sensor.

i was gonna ask you about that yesterday as well, but didn't want to hit you with too much at one time, and it isn't like i was gonna buy the sensors right then anyway. figured that could wait....

so, do you guys keep those in stock? (if you need a test mule..... ;D)

btw, location still shows as orlando....

I know this is an older thread, but what years does this work on? I have a 2015 RGS that is like to do this on if possible.

I find it incredulous of Harley to add traction control to the new bikes but not put TPMS as standard.

TPMS will save your life as much or more than traction control. If you have ever had a complete deflation while riding you know how much of a pucker factor that is.

Does the Harley TPMS have an alarm built in for when the air pressure drops below a certain PSI?

TPMS saved my butt when my heavily loaded Kawasaki Concours 1400 got a rear tire puncture. I was able to pull over and get the bike up on the centerstand before it went totally flat.

Yes...it pops up on the radio in the same manner the "find nearest gas station" warring does if you've seen it. And if your gauges have the TPMS warring light that will come on as well.

And if you have a special it has the same wheel combo as the 2018 CVO Street Glide so the TPMS from the same year will work. I cant remember the part number off the top of my head, but its been posted a couple time already.

There are two things need to take into consideration when considering this:

1. Will the sensor fit the valve stem hole in the rim on your bike.

2. Will the sensor communicate with he BCM on your bike.

I believe TPMS 32700096 will work with a 17-19 bikes that have security as a factory option, and will mount in the 18-19 Special Wheels. Beyond that you'll have to do more research.

I've been following this pretty close and as far as I know, no one has tried to put the new sensor kit on an older bike.

On a pre 2020 m8 just buy cvo tire sensors. 50 each. Do it with a tire change so you don’t pay 100 for mount and Ballance. I’m also running dyna beads. No issues there. Just don’t add air or let any out with the valve stem down. Run the risk of gravity tossing a suns bead into the core and making it stick open.

Not sure if this was mentioned, but if you want to add TPMS to any bike, the FOBOBIKE units work great. The caveat is to put them on metal valve stems as they can damage rubber ones. I use them on right angle aluminum stems. Had them on my old bike and they went over 150,000 miles without any issues. The same units now have almost 30,000 miles on my 2018 FLTRU. If you like, you can leave the app running on your phone and it will alert you with a vibration and beeping that can be neither heard nor felt on a Harley. :surprise::smile:
