23" Wheel and touring
Are any of you with 23 and above wheels doing any major touring? More than bar hopping and a few miles on the weekend?

I've put 10K miles on a 23" with 6* HHI trees and stock-length Progressive Monotubes. Not major touring, but not bar hopping either. Longest trip was a 1500 mile trip to Florida and back for Thunder Beach. I like the way the bike looks and rides.
Would I tour long-distance with it? Absolutely. But you need to make some provisions and plans if you do so. 23's and larger are not readily available on the road for the most part. I would buy a 23" and have it on hand where someone at home could ship it to me if I needed to replace the tire. Is it a PIA? Yea, to a degree. But if I'm touring, which I hope to do when I retire in the next year or two, I won't be in a hurry to get anywhere anyway. The basic things to do are have good tow insurance, run Ride-On in your tires, and carry a plug kit.

I have a 19 with a 23/18 combo stock rake. Feels better than stock and rides better. I ride out of state and had it over triple digits. You wont regret it.
