well, I guess it's good to have a spare, but only two can be programmed to your bike at any one time. so you have a 'non working' spare if you ever lose a fob again, but you'll still have to pay to have it programmed.

I set it to a PIN I use all the time.

PeteF At least you didnít do the stupid thing I did. I lost one of my fobs, so I purchased another one. It costs $50 by the way for the fob and programming. Two days later I found the fob I lost in my recliner. At least now I have three.

When I asked the service rep at my dealer about changing the code, they told me what it was set to. They did say, that if I changed it, I should let them know so they could load the new code into their system. I can see where that could be helpful if I ever could not remember what the code was.

You need the keyfob to reset the pin and you can do it yourself. Check out youtube for a tutorial.
I set mine a couple years ago, so I forgot that you didn't need the old code to reset it.
