Coach127 I like my CVO seat for tooling around the metro mess but I have a CVO heated hammock for the long rides. That CVO seat kicks my ass after a couple hundred miles.

diesel5 I have had friends complain about cvo seats on special models-however the hammock is awesome-I put a small airhawk pad on rear for the wife, big difference for her

Question is. Should I get a different seat? Or is the one from the factory fine on a long run?

If the factory one is t the greatest. Then what would the best option be?
I have the P&A low profile solo seat. Same seat basically. I did 4500 miles in 8 days with the seat and an Airhawk R. No issues. I have a Hammock seat and did all my previous rides on the. 3 iron butts and a trip to Maine and on to Alabama. I sold the Hammock. The Airhawk R did the trick. Was able to ride long distance and the bike still looked cool. Lol.

Gypsy65 I’ve had the hammock on my other bikes and do ride quite a bit.
I like the look of the factory cvo seat so changing it hasn’t been a priority as I haven’t taken the RG across country yet

Will look in to those mentioned
Thanks

RGKen First of all my take on ANY seat for that kind of long distance riding is that you have to get over the saddle sore by building up to it. Just like long distance bicyclist do and of course those that ride horses. Sure there are some seats that will buy you a little more time in the saddle but if someone doesn't ride much and then jumps on the bike for a long haul like that your a$$ will hurt anyway after a while. With that said you will want another seat for that kind of distance. Go back to what you had on your Ultra if you liked it or some like the HD Hammock seat and some like the firm feel of a Corbin seat with a backrest. Lot's of choices out there and if you are already used to riding those kinds of long distances you might be able to get by with using an Airhawk from time to time during the ride. I used to use one just for the change in feel every now and then on long hauls.

Bradley The seat that came on my CVO looks great, but sucks for anything longer than a couple hours. It's pretty much permanently off the bike. My Mustang seat is fantastic!

RonC26 Imagine you'll get a ton of advice on seats w/ that question. . . . but w/ those kinds of miles I'd make sure you had an airhawk in the bags : )
