Anyone running black saddlebag guards but a chrome crash bar?
I have a vivid black 2010 without saddlebag guards. I like the clean look but think I may want some protection back there. Would black guards blend in with the bike or just look goober-ey since my engine guard is chrome?
MOST of the ones you are going to find that have the new bottom rail that the bag sits on are going to be chrome anyway. When I put a set on my last bike (2012) I had to get the chrome set to get the bottom rail and the have the bag guards powder coated.
I had chrome bag guards on my black 2015 RG and they looked great. I have the same bag guards on my black 2018 RGS but they are black and I can barely notice them due to the color. If you lay it down the color won't matter.
Since youre RG is black I would go with black, they will blend in better & if you decide to change the engine guard in the future to black then you will not have to change both. This is what my plan was but got a great deal on a black engine guard from another forum member before getting the saddle bag guards.
I put blacked out guards on my blue and I really like the way it hides them somewhat..if it was a black bike it would hide them...I have an ultra, so water cooled..dont plan on changing out the highway bar....
