Raised up my fairing to 2010+ height so as to add the vented lowers last year and since then my stripes did not match up from the tank to the fairing (did not care, because the addition of the vented lowers was well worth the stripes not matching up). Anyway, just added a DK Customs 1 1/2" tank lift and the stripes now line up again and adds a nice, custom look. Sorry the pics are not the brightest, but you get the idea.

I just did a 2" tank lift on my 15 RGS. I used parts from the hardware store, only cost me $5 and about 10 minutes. I love the look. Now the bottom of the tank lines up with the bottom of the fairing.

Parts used:
(2) 2" U-bolt. I only used the flat bar that is on the u-bolt.
(2) 5/16th x 3/4" hex head bolts
(2) 5/16th self locking nuts with nylon
(4) 5/16th washers.

Alright, finally got around to installing the 2" tank lift on my 2015 RGS. Got everything installed and went to put the seat back on and I could not get the seat to go back on. I have a Le Pera Daddy Long Legs seat and could not get the hole in the seat low enough to go onto the tab. Being a metal backed seat it did not have any give. Anybody else have this problem.

I had no problem, but my bike's an 09 and only went 1.5" not 2".?

Sorry to hash up an old thread, but i have an '09 and am putting lowers on the bike this winter and doing the fairing support swap. anywho, was also interested in a tank lift and found this thread that fits my situation to a T.

my question is did you lift the back of the tank as well with the deluxe option? if you didn't, did you see any variance in your gas gauge?

I lifted mine with the same setup as txgent .. Initially I lifted the front only and the gauge was way off , then I used a socket that is 1" tall as a spacer in the rear , gauge is spot on , but the few times I have really got the tank close to empty , the light has never came on ..

Only did the front (liked that look better and wanted my stripes to match up best). Unsure about the gas gauge. I kind of question if there is still a wee little bit of gas in it when I fill it up and I think it might show less than is in it, but I have no real proof to back that up, just my best educated guess. No major difference in mileage, but wont say there is none. I think someone once told me that HD changed something in the fuel pumps starting in, maybe 2010, that would be better used if I ever felt it was an issue, but I never felt the need to change it out. If my fuel pump ever goes out on me, I would inquire about a different model year one to replace it with tho. Hope that helps some...
