I know there are many threads on the topic... I've read them.

I am still recovering from Christmas, but am looking forward to replacing the stock bars on my '15 CVO Road Glide Ultra with 14" Malos.

The shop is telling me these are the necessary parts. However, in reading many posts & watching a few videos, I've come to doubt that this full list is actually required. Can anyone verify?

14" chrome Malo Bars for 2015 FLTRUSE with heated grips & factory controls (hb1825014c) $450.00
2 12-oz bottles of DOT4 brake fluid (41800219) at $7.95 each = $15.90
Sterling Chromite II hydraulic clutch line, 35º banjo angle, 76" length (1132-0732) $105.95
Twist grip sensor kit (32310-08) $110.95
Sterling Chromite II ABS mid-front brake line (1741-4005) $99.95
Sterling Chromite II ABS lower front brake line kit (1741-4006) $229.95
Sterling Chromite II ABS upper front brake line, banjo angle 35º, size 10mm, (1741-4014) $55.95
Transmission gasket (36805-06) $6.95

Parts Subtotal $1,075.60

I have watched that several times; it's one of the things leading to my questions.
Thus why we're telling you lol! All you need is bars and what ever parts for the heated grips. No lines, wiring or fluid is needed. And it's not that hard to do yourself. I think if you've read the threads and watched the video youd already come to this conclusion. And that the stealer will always find a way and recommend things unnecessary to drain you of your money.

Yeah... I'm working from their list to determine what I need. I hate starting a project & then having to stop because I don't have what I need.

I have read here in several posts that some folks questioned being able to go higher than 12s with stock everything.

Well I just installed them a month or so ago, and can assure you all you need is the bars. And Poly bushings if so desired, I'd recommend them.

Appreciate the insight.

In watching the video, again, I see around the 3:45 mark the dude is pulling pins out of a connector.
I've read posts here that say it's all plug-n-play.
Was your install like the video?

There are actually two videos from Factory 47 on this. One shows the method of depinning the TBW connector under the nacelle, and one shows just unplugging the TBW and heated grip plugs at the grip end (green plug). I'd recommend depinning the connector and either removing green connector and soldering wires or gorilla gluing the green connector so it doesn't come apart while running the wires through the bars. There is a very good thread on how to eliminate that green plug by soldering it. It's not absolutely necessary but eliminates potential headaches. I'd recommend doing one or the other as that plug has a common tendency to come undone inside the bars when running them. I depinned the connector where it connects under the nacelle and gorilla glued the green connector and removed the heated grip connectors. Now since you plan on using heated grips, you obviously wouldn't remove them!

The more I read, the more conflicting info I find. This is from a Factory 47 YouTube video titled 'Factory 47 Wiring A 2015 Road Glide Handle Bar':

"Factory 47 shows you how easy it is to wire one of our 2015 Harley Davidson Road Glide Handle Bar. The bar shown is a 14" rise and the wires do need to be extended a few inches, but not the throttle by wire."

The video showed the pin removal from the harness because the harness will not fit thru the bars. I disconnected the 2 cables from throttle so that i didn't have to run the harness through the bars. Once i disconnected the cable from behind the instrument cluster i tied a string to then and pulled the throttle assy out then disconnected the 2 connectors and pulled the throttle out from the end of the bar and the extension cable that goes to the connector out from the bottom of the bar. The cable assy from the throttle to the connector behind the instrument cluster is in 2 pieces and they have a green and white connector if i remember correctly.

The bars are essentially plug in play, in regard that they don't require any additional equipment to install. But it is common to depin connectors bro.

Any info on the poly bushings so I can try to track them down. Going to order the bars today. Also I read alot of info on this install. I did remove my pin and rolled the factory ones up, held me over for a while but knew I wanted taller bars. I would like to put the pin back in IF the new bars have that provision in them. Thanks in advance for all your input on this topic.
