I just did a 2" tank lift on my 15 RGS. I used parts from the hardware store, only cost me $5 and about 10 minutes. I love the look. Now the bottom of the tank lines up with the bottom of the fairing.

Parts used:
(2) 2" U-bolt. I only used the flat bar that is on the u-bolt.
(2) 5/16th x 3/4" hex head bolts
(2) 5/16th self locking nuts with nylon
(4) 5/16th washers.

How far off is your fuel gauge now? Curious because I am doing a 2" tank lift this weekend on mine.

I did not come up with this on my own. I saw people doing it on sportsters and soft tails and thought it would look nice on the RG.

I have ridden about 1000 miles with it raised and have not noticed the gas gauge being off.

The only thing I did notice was it does change the wind deflection. Before I did the tank raise the stock windshield was sufficient (all though not great). After the tank raise, a better windshield is a must.

Looks like you have Sancho's wings on the fairing. Any other wind deflection on the bike? Factory deflectors on the crash bars inside the fairing, GADDS lower tree deflector? or teh side light deflectors? installed before or after the lift?
