I found a '97 to '08 Harley King Tour-Pak locally on craigslist for $200. It's black cherry, but good enough for my purposes. It came with the '97 to '08 detachable rack (53303-07A). I bought the H-D Detachables Two-Up Tour-Pak Mounting Rack (53000221) to fit my mounting system ($120 on ebay).

I removed the old mount and found ridges on the bottom that would not allow my new rack to lay flat against the TP.

I used the 2015 quick detach mount as a template for the hole locations. I drilled four new holes (1/4 inch) into the floor of the TP. I used neoprene washers against the paint and stacked metal washers on top of that to offset the rack so that it would clear the ridges and mount securely.

Came out alright. More pics in the following posts.

I just put an 09-13 pak on mine using the 09-13 detachable mount. No spacers between pak and rack. The lids come close, but they clear.

What a lot of peeps do to mount this is get some fuel rubber hose in 3/8" or 1/2" and place the hose in the place the old tour pack was. Put some silicon in the slot to seal the holes and then drill like you did. The hose becomes the rubber bushings basically and makes for a solid evened out load on the tour pack.
