Does anyone know if it is true that the 2009 & newer fairing support/brackets have been modified from the MOCO to sit the Shark Nose lower on the frame? If this is true, can I purchase the newer support/brackets and bolt them right up to my 2003 frame? I want to lower the nose @ 2 inches on my scooter. Thanks in advance for any info that will help me reach my goal. Jimmy

2010 was the year it changed, both the frame mounting bracket and the two down brackets to the engine guard,

The bracket and supports will work on your bike, but you will have to switch them both. Just buying the supports won't work, and likewise with just the bracket.

The newer parts will not lower the fairing. They will RAISE the rear a bit and angle the fairing a couple of degrees.

They allow you to put vented lowers on without modifying the caps.

So what you and chainsaw are saying is if I change out the brackets on my 06 to the brackets of an 10 I can run the vented lower fairings? Are you talking about lower fairings that come on the FLHTC.
Thanks

Yes, the Vented lowers stock on Ultras and used as Add Ons for other Bat Wing models can be used when the Fairing Mounts from 2010-later Road Glide is used on any 2009-earlier Road Glide. But you must replace all three mounts. The main Fairing mount and two supports.

I just finished up this mod on my 06. The fairing mount is on but I still have to put the inner and outer fairing back on. My HD color matched vented lowers will not be here for a few more weeks. It was just under a 100 bucks for the supports and mounting bracket as long as you don’t buy new "c clamps" for the supports. That’s another 50 bucks. It took about two and a half months to get the left fairing support in due to back order.

Thanks guys. RBW427 do you have the part numbers?
I sure do and here they are. I quoted you the wrong price, it was $173.80. My parts guy hooked me up with a really good discount so I paid a little over 100 bucks. I do not have the "c clamp" part numbers but they are 50 bucks a pop...I couldn’t believe that they are more than the supports. You can use your stock clamps though. Sorry about the mix up on the price. Hope this helps.

58530-10 Bracket, Fairing Mount 75.20
58454-10 Left Support, Lower Fairing 49.30
58460-10 Right Support, Lower Fairing 49.30

Has anyone tried and confirmed that the older lower support brackets will not go on the bike when using the 2010 upper support? i know to use he vented lowers you need both but if the old brackets can be used I can whip up a .5" spacer in the machine shop and get longer studs for less than the $80 they want for the 2 lower support brackets.

Have you tried this spacer idea? I’d like to do the same

If you notice this thread started in 2010. The post you’re answering in from 2015.
And the mount and supports are for the Pre-Rushmore Fairings. But from my own experience, the Vented Lowers from the Electra Glide can fit the 2009 and earlier Road Glide. But the Lower will just touch the bottom of the Fairing. I mounted them on my 2009 Road Glide. The only thing I needed to do was trim the Engine Guard cover to fit outside the lower support bracket.
This post is raising the Dead.

Yea I know it’s an old one but still alive it looks like, haha.. I have a 2009 RoadGlide and don’t want to change out the brackets unless I really need to.. “maybe a winter job“ I’ll look into what you were talking about and maybe give that a try. I’m really just looking to have them in for the long trips, I’ve got one coming up the end of summer, going through the Smoky Mountains and thought it would be nice to have… thanks for your info
