Hey Guys,
I have 2010 RG custom. I want swap out the bars for Harley pull backs. Can anyone tell me if I really need to extend all the cables or will the originals works?
It looks like I have enough slack but I'm not sure yet. I haven't taken it a part yet.

I think Chainsaws mentioned that there is enough wire to do 15" Apehangers if you want. Thats alot of Handlebar! PM him he would be glad to help, I cant remember if he said he just re-routed brake and clutch cables or went new.

Double check with Chainsaw, but I can tell ya that I changed out my stock for 10" PYO Monkey Bars, and didn't have to change any cables. An added note is that I don't have ABS, so I am not sure if that will make a difference or not.

For the 2010 w/ ABS, you have enough clutch cable and brake line to go with 15" ape hangers. You may have to unclip a couple zipties on your brake line, or reroute your clutch cable, but there is a good amount of extra on there. As for wiring, you have enough wiring under your fairing for any kind of bar you can think of.

I was gonna go with the pull backs but now your making consider aps. I like the look with aps.
Anyways it looks like I'll spending a lot less than one dealer quoted me at.. Too funny. $800 vs $150

No problem. I can't say 100% for sure on your brake line, because I have ABS, but Rowdy says it can go at least 10" so I'm betting you can get some more from it as well.

I've done the Harley Pullback touring bars on 3 Roadglides; an '04, '07, & '08. None with ABS though. The wiring is plenty long. You may need to get into the fairing to loosen up a cable tie or two to gain the slack you need, but it's there. The throttle & idle cables or TBW harness are all long enough. The brake line on the '08 had lots of room. THe two earlier bikes were tighter, but not a problem. All three years needed to have the clutch cable re-routed, but not replaced. Hope that helps.

OMGTTKK thanks. I just swapped them out last night (2 hours) without taken the fairing off. Really simple. I had to re-route the clutch as well. It was putting tension on the housing around the speedo and tach.
I do have one more question about the throttle. There is two wiring harnesses inside the bars that connect in the fairing. One with two wires and the other has like 5 or 6. What is the two wire harness for?
The reason I ask because it wasn't hooked up under the fairing. unless I disconnected when pulling the harness slack up. But I doubt it because it was all right there. No snags.
