I AM RUNNING THE STAGE 4 103 KIT FROM HARLEY THE KIT COMES WITH 259E cams. i am dropping it off at RCcycles today in about one hour having them put the open air kit, 2 into 1 thunderheader and SE racetuner in then puttin her on the dyno. i will post results tonight. to anyone who is considering this kit i say go for it! i love it! and i know that once i get it from the shop today i will love it 10times more!

Bob @ RC is the best tuner on the west coast. I'm sure you'll be happy with his work (I'm still smilin' with his last tune on my shark).

I think the kit sucked but that is JMO. I already took the 58mm Throttle Body off and I am thinking about getting rid of those POS 259E cams. Unless you want to run balls to the walls all the time keeping your power band at 3000 RPM or above all the time then this kit is for you. But if you just want to cruise at lower RPM and be able to roll on the throttle with good low end torque then you may want to go with a different set up. Not to mention that you go from 42/45 mpg to 30mpg & I had to go to get it dyno tuned twice 1 time by HD and 1 time by a indy and neither one could tune it so I had to get a Thundermax auto tuner to get the bike to run right. Hope you have better luck with the stage IV then I did but the results for the $$ is pretty disappointing.

I am running the same kit with VH propipe and get 107hp, 105tq. 100hp at 2,050rpm. Verry happy with how it changed rideability but as previously a good man on the dyno makes ALL the differance! Good luck with the tune and enjoy the sickness!!

LOVE THIS KIT WITH T/H and SE tuner

OKAY I WILL START WITH THIS..I KNOW I POSTED THIS SOMEWHERE ELSE AND I DIDNT GET A REPLY. I PUT THE KIT IN AND KEPT THE STOCK AIR FITLER AND STOCK PIPES WITH V&H SLIP ONS AND IN 5TH GEAR AT 5K RPM IT JUST HIT THE WALL!!!! THEN IF I SHIFTED TO 6TH IT WONT GO PAST 4KRPM the bike did 110 and that was about it.... i installed 2into1 thunderheader open airkit 58mm BTW and SE racetuner and got it tuned today it now does 120+ in 5th gear and 6th just keeps pulling!!! and yes thats on 880North/south. lol anyways i love this motor. when i go from first to second the front wheel comes up easy! I DONT KNOW WHY THE NUMBER ARE DIFFERNT BETWEEN THE SAME KITS BUT IM RUNNING @113HP 117TQ WITH REV LIMITER AT 6500RPM. i do believe it was BOB at RC that actually tuned the bike either way the whole team over there was awesome and I LOVE MY TUNE! THIS BIKE ROCKS! I WILL BUY THIS KIT AND INSTALL IT IN EVERY BIKE I GET FROM NOW!

Im glad to read about this. I installed the stage 4 kit on my bike as well but i went with Woods 777 cams. Cant wait to feel it when i get home.

Nice numbers. You got you a real beast there. Hard to say bad about the 259 cam from the looks of your graph. Enjoy.

The numbers are good, but unfortunately you have the big dip in the TQ that thunderheaders are famous for. I had the same issue with them on my softail but my tuner eventually tuned it out. I really enjoy mine on the Softy but elected to go a different direction with my RK and RGU.

love my motor! and i can say that my local dealer still took care of me 1150.00 warranty work when i had a leak in the rocker box and transmission trapdoor.

you bought the stage IV and then bought 110 heads??? or did you mean u used the ones in the kit??? if you did use 110 heads, why did you do that? i have reall terrible head noise out of my motor im told cuz of the heads and valves that come with the kit did using the 110 heads eliminate that for you? and the 110 heads are they ported like the ones that come in the kit???

yeah bob did get a great job.... i can smell a whole lot more gas now tho since iv put about 300 miles on after the tune and usually when im really gettin on it..is that normal or somthing i should be worried about?

2011 FLTRX 103 stage 4

I had the stage 4 installed and got 119 hp and 116 tq. I am having some heat issues on the hot days when setting in traffic or stop lights. Took back o dealer and they said all is ok. I think the fuel set up is off, I am running 110 octane and still have a little issue. Bike will pop through throttle body when blipping the throttle to take off on occasion, making me think its to lean. I bought the cables and imputed disk for the race tuner and may try to adjust. Runs strong, but I don't like the issues I am having when it's hot. Thinking about the thundermax. Any ideas or input appreciated.

in my opinion I would take it you ever dynoed it .. they can amd should adjust it so it runs like it should...here in the bay area its been pretty hot but I got tje true test last wedmesday I rode to tje valley and it was 10pm and 97 out side and at 80 to 85 my bikeran fine...it was as hot as its ever been in 2500 miles since iv had the motor in but still no pops or laggin or nothing...
