I could use some help. I just put the nose back on after upgrading the speakers. I tried to start the bike and got the flashing lights and no ignition. I read the codes and got b1124- right turn output short to ground and u1040-loss of communication with abs. I checked the wires to my turns and they look ok. And they flash just fine in problem mode. I reset the codes and it still flashes and wont start. I am out of ideas. Abs fuse is also good. Thanks in advance for any help.

Check to make sure you didn't pinch the front turn signal wire. Check the front running light on that side. I didn't think it would keep the bike from starting, but you never know.

Okay I noticed the key icon was flashing. I tried both my fobs with new batteries and still it acted like it was in security mode. So I entered my security code and the bike started, YAAAAAAAAAAA. However it will not recognize my fobs and still will not start normally. How do I fix this?

Just to verify, was the Shark running before you did the speaker upgrade? If so I would pull the outer fairing back off and double and triple check your wiring. Make sure as others have said that you have not pinched and inadvertently shorted a wire or two. I would not be too quick to condemn the ECM until you have exhausted all other options.

Hi Mulchman. I have had the fairing off 3 times. I disconnected both turn signals and exhaustively checked for shorts, found none. I checked for resistance go ing back to the bike from the turn signal plug and found resistance between pins. Same resistance same pins on both sides. I do not know what the resistance should be if any. everything works on the bike. And I can start it after I disable the alarm using my code. So that's where i'm at.

You might try disconnecting the battery for about 15 minutes or so to see if it might reset the ECU.

I found this on another forum with a google search. Perhaps this might apply in your situation. Figured it was worth a look.

Default TSSM Security Module Resetting Procedure.
For 2001 and up Harley Davidsons with TSSM Security Module, (key icon displays when key is turned to ignition position)

if your security light stays on for a prolonged period of time, if you have changed your battery or disconnected your battery when fitting components such as LED turns & if you have fitted LED turns without a load equalizer, you might need to reprogram your OEM Module.

Always wait for confirmation before hitting the next step:

step # 1. move handle bar kill switch to off position

step # 2. turn your ignition key: on-off, on-off then on

step # 3. hit the left turn signal twice.
your turn signals and indicator light will flash 1 - 3 flashes

step # 4. hit the right turn signal once.
turn signals and indicator light will flash once.

step # 5. hit the right turn signal once.
turn and indicator signals will flash twice.

step # 6. hit right turn signal once.
turn and indicator signals will flash three times.

step # 7. hit left turn signal once.
turn and indicator signals flash to indicate error code
(You can google code definitions if need be)

step # 8. to now clear codes, hit left turn signal and hold down for 6 seconds until confirmation.
turn and indicator signals flash twice.

step # 9. turn the ign switch to off

Again I don't take credit for this, I am just regurgitating what someone else suggested. I saw this and thought perhaps it might apply in your situation. Good Luck !
