Hows it going brothers... I know this topic has been beat to death but I will risk the beat down anyways.... Is there any replacement stereos for my 15 RG other than the Metria (I think that's how its spelled) which will still maintain use of the hand controls and oil pressure and air temp. I spoke with a guy who works at sound customs who stated to me they are in the works with a company to build a similar style head unit like the 6.5 which will retain all the extras on the factory but will have rca preouts and not require any freaking flashes or any BS like that. He said this should be out in spring of 2016

As far as I know Metra is the only other option:

It would be good to see some more options, I'm at the point where I going to try the Metra option with a complete after market setup. I used to own a car stereo shop, and this is the same crap the car manufacturer started doing (integrating everything into or through the head unit!

If anyone has done the Metra, it would be great to see pictures and get any tips/tricks for the install.

Ok so I have been doing some home work and I see that a few ppl have installed a double din touch screen stereo with the metra controller mounted in the side pocket. So my question is now... are there any touch screen double din stereos that are marine grade??? All the research I have done tells me no. So if that is the case does any one know how well a regular double din stereo would fair in the open elements and is there a way to make the stereo water resistant.
