After a long ride this weekend and catching two cicada's (If you don't know what those are see link: Periodical Cicadas | Missouri Department of Conservation) to the face, I have decided its time for a taller windshield.

I was originally looking at the solid black 9" windshield from Klockwerks to keep the blacked out style, but it sort of defeats the purpose of my new bike which is long highway rides.

Now I am debating between the Klockwerks Pro Touring and Freedom shields. While Klockwerks Sport Flare looks nice, I hear the view is really distorted and I personally like the more simple look of the Pro Touring/Freedom.
Having some problems finding pictures of the tall Pro Touring on a new 2015.
Also seeking advice on the best way to measure to determine height. I obviously have a tape measure and I know you need to measure just a bit below eye level... But where on the fairing do I measure from (Etc., etc.)

I am 6'2" and any advice or pictures would help. Thanks!

Go on Freedoms website, they show pics on how to measure. Waiting for my new Freedom shield as I write this, supposed to be here tomorrow, can't wait, went with the 14'' medium gray tint, that's the stock size on mine. flhman

I love my 14" KW sport flare in dark tint, view is distorted but not to the point where its a deal breaker (IMHO)

I went with an 11" freedom shield for my '15. Works good but I think I should have gone 1 or 2 inches taller for better protection. The clarity is really amazing, you could look through this shield with no issues.

I think Freedom Shield is the way to go. Product looks high quality, price is good and I love that if I leave the plastic on it and I don't like the ride... I can return it. Going to take some cardboard tomorrow at work and measure things up on my break. Thinking somewhere in the 14-15" range should be perfect for my height.

After mocking it up with cardboard and tape... I am now debating between 14" or 15" in height. Seems minimal, but I'm torn. My height changes as I ride depending on my posture.

There is a long thread already posted on this subject. As people don't often repeat themselves, suggest you search it out.

That said, I should have bought an inch higher. I slouch against the driver backrest. When I sit "tall", could have gone 2" or more higher.

As stated, keep the film on it as you test ride, send it back if too tall.

The extra height is the difference between rain hitting you, or maybe not.
