During a night ride I noticed the low beam seems to be to low, high beam hits up the road a little bit farther. I tried turning the adjustment screw under the headlight but it turns freely. I can't seem to get it to adjust. Can someone tell me which way the adjustment has to be turned in order to raise the headlight?

Hmm...good question. I just looked in the service manual & it doesn't say in there either. The only thing I can suggest is to have the ignition on with headlight on, and turn the adjusting screw while the light is shining on the wall, garage door, etc, and see if you can notice the beam going up or down.

Well I figured it out. By turning the adjustment screw in, lowers the headlights. I was able to turn it out and bring the headlights up quite a bit. WOW! what a difference. Last Saturday I was out on a day ride and it got dark on my way home, first time out at night with the bike and I couldn't see very good on low beam. They were shinning directly in front of the bike, high beam was great. Now, low beams are very nice and high beam lights up way down the road. I think it's about right!

Thanks Lil' Chief for the reply and suggestions!

Look under the headlights. Right in the middle, bottom, other side of where the bottom of the fairing ends. My were way low too when I brought the bike home, couldn't see at night had to adjust up quite a bit.

So was mine and a lot of others. You would think with what they charge for pre delivery inspection they could at least adjust the headlights? Kind of a safety issue!!

How do the lights cast the light riding two up? May make a difference.
Have not tried riding two up at night yet, but when I do, I'll post what I find.

There shouldn't be a difference riding two up if you adjust the preload correctly for carrying a passenger.

When you measure the light you need to be on the bike with the preload set how you normally ride. If you blind oncoming cars you will be creating a dangerous hazard.
